In addition, I will be recording and producing a friend on mine in FL’s new EP that will be out in July. It’s been extremely crazy lately, but it’s definitely better to be too busy than not busy at all!!! I will keep you posted on everything going on!

FEBRUARY 20, 2010

It’s been a little while since I’ve gotten a chance to write anything on here, but thankfully...that’s because I’ve been busy with a lot of things!

I am currently writing songs on my own, with Adam Richman, and with other great writers in hopes of getting a song on Jessie James’ next record! Along with that I have played a few shows with Jessie this year, and have been playing as much as I can around the Jacksonville Beach, Fl area. Along with songs for Jessie and other artists, I have also been working on some of my own new material. I hope to have something for people to listen to in the next couple of months. I have a bunch of new dates up on my CALENDAR (click here) as well, so hopefully you can make it out to a few!

Go to my YouTube page (click here) to see some original performances from my show at FREEBIRD’S LIVE with Peter Dearing, John Earle, and Dan Reading. I put up some new PHOTOS (click here) from that night too!!! Check ‘em out!

ALSO...check out a compilation video from my performance with Jessie James (click here - www.nashvillelifestyles.com) in Nashville, TN! We played with Josh Kelley, Love & Theft, and a few other great bands. If you scroll to the bottom and play the video on the right, you’ll see a great compilation video of the entire night!

Hope all is well with everyone! See you soon!

It's been a 'crazy' time for Beaches musician Alexander Seier

Neptune Beach musician Alexander Seier has spent most of this year on the road, playing guitar and singing background for Island Def Jam country-pop singer Jessie James, a rising star who is all over MTV, has opened for the Jonas Brothers and released a self-titled debut album in August.

Since February, Seier has appeared on several national television programs and traveled across the country and to Europe performing and promoting with James. He recently performed with James during the halftime show at Cowboys Stadium when the Dallas Cowboys played the Seattle Seahawks.

"It's been crazy," Seier said. "It's not exactly what I thought I'd be doing, playing behind a pop act, but I'm thankful to be playing music for a living."

The singer/songwriter/guitarist is no stranger to being on stage. Before working with James, Seier performed with Maroon 5 and Teddy Geiger, wrote songs with Stone Temple Pilots guitarist Dean DeLeo and toured with popular indie band Secondhand Serenade.

"I've had a lot of really great experiences," he said. "And you learn so much about the business doing that kind of stuff."

Seier, who grew up in Pennsylvania, is a self-taught guitarist. He was still in high school when he joined his first band, Project 67. He's been working his way around the music industry ever since.

Seier first moved to Los Angeles, where he landed a record deal with Lava Atlantic Records, home to artists such as Matchbox Twenty and Kid Rock. Seier released a self-titled debut solo album, but the label went under.

He then headed back east, first to Washington, D.C., then to New York City. He continued to work on his music, but New York was an expensive place to live, especially on an artist's earnings. He moved to the Beaches two years ago with plans to be part of a recording studio. The studio deal didn't work out, but Seier has been playing his mix of acoustic pop-rock covers and originals around town ever since.

"I realized how much people around here want to hear live music in restaurants and bars," he said. "There is a lot of opportunity to play live music around here."

Seier's song list includes covers of material from everyone from Marvin Gaye to the Violent Femmes. He likes to play a lot of different places and has performed at Caribbee Key in Neptune Beach, Mellow Mushroom, The Brix, The Wine Bar, Urban Flats in Ponte Vedra and The Grape in Jacksonville, among others.

"I play out as much as I can," Seier said. "Around here, you're very easily forgotten if you don't."

Last year, Seier released a solo demo compilation CD, "The Los Angeles, New York City, Klecknersville, Jacksonville Beach Demo Sessions," which can be purchased on iTunes and Amazon along with his debut album. For the next few weeks, Seier will be taking a break from the road. He is preparing to launch a new Web site, www.myspace.com/alexanderseier, and planning to work on new original music. He hopes to release a new CD early next year.

Seier will be performing Saturday at "A Modern Fairytale," a charity event at Sutra Salon, 320 Ninth Ave. N., benefiting AngelAid, a Jacksonville-area foundation for children with life-threatening diseases or situations such as homelessness or abuse.
